Pre-eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhaging

Natasha
Saturday night around midnight I started to have contractions, four days before my due date. Because they were irregular and not super bad I tried to wait them out. Warm shower helped for a bit, a warm bath helped take the edge off after a while, but then I couldn't wait anymore. I woke my boyfriend up and told him we needed to go in.
I got to the hospital at 4am with contractions around 4-5 mins apart and 2cm dilated. When they checked my vitals they told me that I was showing signs of pre-eclampsia because my blood pressure was high and there was protein in my urine.
Around 8:30 they gave me pitocin to try to speed labor up. And let me have an epidural.  Labor wasn't bad after that until I had to push but even then it was only about 15 minutes of pushing.
After they placed her on my chest they started saying how they couldn't stop my bleeding. Then my blood pressure shot up and I got really cold. After they put five heated blankets on me, I finally stopped shaking. Then they made my boyfriend leave the room to bring the baby to be weighed in the nursery while they gave me my shots and tried to stop my hemorrhage and control my blood pressure. The whole time I didn't know that I was close to dying.
I'm home and recovering and happy to be with my boyfriend and or daughter who couldn't be healthier.
