Terrified

So I want to ask my mom to be put on birth control not because I'm sexually active I'm still a  Virgin but because of my period. It's awful I can barely stand the cramps are that bad. I get nauseous and dizzy and it's just really bad. My friend said that they just do a blood test and an ultrasound but is it outside like a normal one is? I'm scared and tired of being in pain. My period also last for more then 7 days it's usually 8-10 days it's been like that for the last year and a half.
