I have that sometimes and was told it's normal. As long as you're not cramping, smelly discharge, a ton of clear discharge or bleeding; more discharge is normal towards the end of the pregnancy

No, it's just discharge.   In my experience the mucous plugs have more color variation, some really dark brown in them as well.  Like an old booger
