HPV?..

Question

Has anyone ever had HPV?

I am soo scared, went to the doctors & found out i had an abmormal pap. Had to get a biopsy in order to check whether or not i am carrying the HPV virus.  Won't get my results for another 2 weeks.

Advice? Help!

I think something like 80% of women between 16-30 have some strain of hpv. In a lot of cases it comes and goes dormant quickly but it's good that your dr is on it. You'll be fine. A lot of us have been there and were all here for you. Don't get scared by people who don't know what they're talking about lol ? it's ok

I came up positive 6 years ago. They did a procedure where they froze my cervix and let it thaw out (not sure of the name). Since then I've had 5 regular paps and had my first child. Hope all turns out fine for you.

I had it as well, had to do a keep procedure and still was able to
​Have a beautiful baby girl. I was considered high risk and they gave me steroids to develop my daughters lungs just in case though. Keep procedure they shorten your cervix so... But after that I had to go twice a year for paps and everything was normal afterwards!

Don't trip out:) I had it and took 3 shots and so did my fiancé. He's the only guy I've been with and he wasn't a man whore. Everyone gets it at least once in their life I heard, but they don't know since there's no symptoms. Don't worry! Just take the shots and have your boyfriend take the shots as well. It's a series of 3.

Also although you can get this from your partner sometimes the virus is not active but in your system. For men who have had sex with a women who has HPV and didn't use protection it is passed on to them and they can therefore pass it on to other women. However it is hard for me to notice they have it so sometimes they don't even Know they do have it and pass it one to the next person they are in a relationship with. Just FYI (doesn't necessarily mean your SO cheated)

Definitely  keep up with exams I went for paps 2x a year for 3 years I did have a biopsy but the end of last year it FINALLY came back normal. As long as you stay on top of it and catch everything early (since there are different  strains) you're fine. I haven't gone to the Dr's in a year but I go in November and hopefully  it will remain dormant. My husband did get it from me because at the time I didn't know I had it and his also went away (it only showed for a month about 4 yrs ago and hasn't been seen since). Just make sure you ask your doctor any questions and keep going back when they suggest you do.

Yes please keep up with your exams. Last I known I have it. I'm to scarred to go back and see if I'm Okay. Don't be like me and never go back! I'm trying to muster up enough courage to go back. :(

I had it as well but my last  two test  came back normal.   Hopefully nothing to worry about. . When he told me I called my mom  crying and she told me everything will be fine and in the end it was fine.  Mom knows best

I did/do. Had to have a LEEP procedure a few years ago. Got pregnant a little over a year later and had a healthy baby girl. Just keep up with your yearly exams and you'll be fine!
