Can heated scented wax harm my unborn baby??

I ask because my mom is always using the cinnamon wax that u put into a tray like thing and its heated by a bulb and once it melts. It's super strong and it irritates me.. Anyone know if just the smell is safe !?

I've always been sensitive to scented candles, air fresheners, etc. they give me headaches and make me feel ill in general. I doubt that it'll hurt the baby though.

I can't imagine what could be in it that wouldn't be safe for you to inhale from across the room. However, your nose is extra sensitive right now because of being pregnant, so you could just ask your mom to tone down her use of the wax when you're around.

The scented waxes use fragrance oils not essential oils unless specifically stated otherwise on the package, these fragrance oils do have some toxic effects (you can google for the exact chemicals that are released) but if your only coming in limited or moderate contact with it then it's likely not very harmful, it's no different then fragrance wall plug in's or fragrance sprays.

Scentsy is a very popular brand that claims to be all natural but really there's no natural "cinnamon sticky bun" or "mochadoodle". There are other companies that sell the wax melts made from soy/beeswax/vegetable based instead and use essential oils not fragrance oils.

It may just be overpowering because your pregnant, your nose has super smelling powers right now so it might itrritate you more.
