First Appointment?!

What normally happens at your first appointment? This is my first Pregnancy and by the time my first appointment is I should be 11 weeks.. What would they do and ask you? And what are some questions I should make sure to ask?!

I don't know where you are from, but in NY the first appointment is the longest. They will ask about your family history, medical history, the dads and his family. They will explain everything about pregnancy, might give you a book on all the trimesters. Depending on where you go is depending on whether or not you get an ultrasound

I had a pap smear, pee test, weight, blood pressure checked. Doc sat me down in his office reccomended a few great books, answered all my questions then scheduled me for an ultrasound.  I also sat down with their billing lady to go over isurance paperwork and how co-pays would be.

My first appt, for both my pregnancies, they asked the questions like usual and I got to hear their heartbeats. I didnt get an ultrasound, but im in IA and all doctors are different
