When to tell parents

Question

I am about 4 weeks and I know there is a superstition that you're not supposed to share the news until after the first trimester. I really wanna tell my mom though because it's my first pregnancy and I kind of need her right now. Lol I'm 31 I know I should be more grown up about this but sometimes a girl just needs her mommy. What do you all think?

I had a misscarraige at about 5 weeks in March and we told no one (I don't recommend that, having no support was horrible.)  I'm pregnant again (8weeks and all looks good!)  I want to tell my parents so bad and we were going to last week but the took a last minute trip to Florida! Now we are just sitting on the information till they get back and we can make the 4 hour trip to see them. We are not telling his family first because, bless their hearts, they can't keep a secret and I don't want my mom finding out on Facebook!

I am absolutely a believer in telling immediate family right away. I did with my last pregnancy and when I did have a miscarriage at 9 weeks, I really needed the support then too. I am now 5 weeks and told immediate family. That way they can share in the joy and if the worst happens also the sorrow. But I am not at all superstitious and do not think my telling had anything to do with the MC

DH and I told our families right away. I also told my bosses and coworkers. I am just so excited it's hard to keep it in!!

We told our immediate family right away. Even if something does happen, in my opinion, every life is deserved to be celebrated regardless of how short or long it may be.

My husband and I told our parents right away, then miscarried. Got pregnant again, told them, miscarried again. Finally pregnant a third time and now we're going to wait to tell them. I'm so nervous about what will happen this time that I don't want to have them bringing it up constantly. Also, my mother has a great talent for adding stress by making every decision into a life or death issue. So it really depends on your parents and whether you think it would help or hinder your health and emotional state.

I told my mom right away, work found out two weeks later, and I'm also waiting to announce on fb(not until gender though)

I had a miscarriage in august (5 weeks preg) we had told our parents and siblings by that point. Whilst the support they gave us was amazing I felt their disappointment cos they were all so excited. I'm now 6 weeks preg and my mum and sister know but we are going to have a private early scan before telling other family this time. However if we were to miscarry again we would tell all the family anyway I just can't bear to have their excitement squashed again!

I have always heard tell the people you would need if something happened...for some that is family other it is just their partner and others have close friends...
