AF due in 2 days. Took a opt just to see if it would give me any sign of pregnancy since I heard an opk can be used as a hpt since the hormones are almost identical. What are everyone's thoughts?

I just googled that, it says that it's possible it can but the levels of the hcg will be so low to test positive so you may get false negatives if pregnant.

I took one of each and had a faint line on the opk and not the hpt.  Also, I read if you test both to do the hpt first or you might get a false positive.

I tried the same thing, and I got a faint positive. I turned out to be pregnant, although I had a MC. Good luck!

Opk detects lutenizing hormone. Pregnancy detects human growth hormone. I would take a pregnancy test to be sure :) they aren't the same hormones. They are very similar chemically though!
