Would you get a Zika Vaccine?

Question

Antivaxxers: Assuming it was proven that the Zika virus caused microcephaly in newborns (a horrible birth defect) and that the virus became very acive in the U.S., and an effective Zika vaccine became available, would you still refuse the vaccine while pregnant or trying to become pregnant? 
Would you still be f*^%cking against vaccines?

I wouldn't. I am very cautious about what I put in my and my children's bodies. If a Zika vaccine came out while I was pregnant, there would be no history to assure its safety and efficacy. My son did have a reaction to a vaccine that has been on the market for years and he was hospitalized. It's easy to criticize and say what you'd do in a perfect scenario but when your 18-month old is perfectly healthy and then looks as if he's going to die hours later and it's something you could have prevented it's a much different story. Getting a vaccine guarantees nothing, especially one with no history. I'd much rather have a baby with a birth defect than no baby at all.

It would depend what the side effects were and the other ingredients in the vaccine. This is generally always the concern - not that they don't work, or aren't effective in many situations. Vaccinations aren't black and white. Some are extremely necessary, some aren't. Some work very well, some don't. Some have horrendous side effects, some don't. 
The whooping cough vaccine given in pregnancy states on the data sheet that it's effect on the fetus has not been assessed and that vaccinations are not recommended during pregnancy! It actually says that on the data sheet! Bit scary. It says to way up the risk vs benefit. Which is what we are meant to do with all vaccines - we are meant to make an informed decision.

No I wouldnt. I would not trust a brand new vaccine like that. I'm not against regular, routine vaccines (besides the flu shot), but then again those have been around for years and tweaked when there were issues.
