Smoking cause for infertility?

Ok so for thirteen years I have tried to get pregnant, in those thirteen years I never once got a positive pregnancy test. In 2014 I quit smoking for a month and a half. I fell pregnant but lost my baby, I got pregnant a few months after that and lost that one, and month after I lost the second one I got pregnant again and lost twins.

I smoke now and it's a bad habit but I honestly don't know if really smoking is to blame. I feel so stupid and selfish but I've been smoking since I was twelve and I know it's not good. When I quit smoking I finally conceived, was this a coincidence or am I just going insane? I know plenty of women who smoked their whole life and we able to carry babies, those babies turned out just fine. Help me.

According to glow every time I put my symptoms in and say I smoked it tells me to quit... Then it says quitting can up fertility by 50%.  I'm working on quitting and almost there just occasionally... Hoping to kick it soon. Good luck!!!

Maybe there's another cause to all of your loses, in which I am deeply sorry about btw. I've been a smoker since I was 12 as well. I've had 5 miscarriages (all before 15 weeks) and 1 still born baby boy at 35 weeks. I quite smoking each time by around 8-9weeks. I didn't find out about the health problems I had causing all of these loses until we lost our son. 1) I'm RH negative and need a "Rogram" (sp) shot before 4-5 weeks in order to not miscarry. 2) I have Factor II deficiency (a clotting disorder) that caused my baby boy to be born still due to a blood clot in the umbilical cord. 3) finally I was diagnosed with EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and was given a 25% chance of being able to carry a child to full term. It took me getting several genetics blood testing done, and having a skin biopsy to be able to determine all of these factors. I highly recommend asking your doctor for genetics testing if your insurance will cover it. My DH and I had been TTC for 5 years and now that we finally know all of my medical problems my doctors now know what they have to do to for me to carry a healthy baby full term. I'm currently almost 36 weeks pregnant with a baby girl that we are desperately hoping will be our first living child. Don't give up! Do what you can to find out why these things are happening before becoming pregnant again so that you can save yourself from anymore devastation. Trust me I know how discouraging it can be. I promise you will get there! Just keep your head up and stay strong!

It does not cause infertility it can make ttc more difficult but not always. I smoked a pack a day and drank 4 or more 20oz redbulls a day plus a cup of coffee or 2 before I got pregnant. I'm currently 21w with #2. Both my boys are healthy. And while pregnant and nursing I DO NOT smoke or have more caffeine than my 2 coffees a day.

Have you talked to a fertility specialist? Sometimes docs will blame the popular evil of the time. But a competent doc will find out for sure and not throw out assumptions.

3 generations of my family were smokers and they all managed to get pregnant. Yet, I'm a smoker as well but can't seem to get pregnant at all. We've been trying for the last 13 months now and nothing. Smoking makes it harder but not impossible.
