Gender specific name?

Question

My husband and I have been working on names. Our boy name is set, but we've been struggling more with the girl name.  (We're not finding out what it is) We both love Hayden Grace (V last name) but my family thinks that it doesn't sound like a girl name, so they don't really like it. I know it isn't super gender specific, but think it's cute - plus I really want a unique first name for my baby.

I know in the end it's up to us, but I could really use opinions on what others think. Please help!

I have a friend named Hayden who was the captain of her cheerleading squad, president of her sorority, wears heels every day of her life and is just as sweet and genuine as they come. If that ain't girly, I don't know what is! Go with what YOU like. Don't let others shake you. It's a beautiful name.

I love Hayden for a girl!! We are expecting a princess in May, and her name is Olive Georgette. Our second pick was Berkeley Ryan (which I'll definitely use if we have a second daughter some day). Yay for unique/non gender specific names :)

I have known 4 Haydens in my life and only one was a boy. It's a gender neutral name and one that she won't be picked on for. I like it better for a girl than boy and your family will start seeing it as a girl name instead of a boy name the minute they meet baby. If they complain about the name just say "Well then I guess you're hoping for a boy because that's the only way the name changes"

I always thought Hayden was a guys name. *shrug* but you name your daughter whatever you want. I know a couple that named their daughter Hunter Grace and I actually love name. The Middle name definitely makes it more feminine.

Hayden was my top pick for a girl! But, I'm having a boy. I love neutral names. Mine is obviously. My first daughter is Sydney which used to be more gender neutral. Go with what you think and love and forget the haters. Nobody will criticize (to your face anyways) once they see that sweet little face!
