Pumping one feed for over night?

I've been breasyfeeding for 6 weeks now. My baby was only 6lb 6oz when born and has been eating little and often. (More or less every 2-3 hours) all day every day.

I'm thinking of pumping one feed if milk got my husband to give for example at mind night then I can sleep from around ten til two hopefully. My baby sometimes takes a dummy. She has never tried a bottle.

Has anyone had any sucess doing this or does anyone have any tips or tricks on pumping. ?? How many oz should I pump? How much breast milk does an 8lb six week old baby need per feed? Help please xx 🍼🙏🏼

6 weeks old is the perfect time to introduce a bottle. If you wait too long, baby may reject it. I would say 3 oz for a nighttime feed is plenty. If your baby is anything like mine, he'll probably fall asleep before he finishes the bottle.

I pump in the morning after she eats and get between 2-5 ounces. My husband uses that milk to feed my daughter around midnight so I can sleep a little more. Sometimes he has to supplement with formula but it works well for us. I get to sleep, he gets to cuddle.

I exclusively pump and my almost 4 week old  eats 3 oz every 2 hours during the day and then over night will do 3-4 hours of sleep between feedings. When I pump I get more in the morning than at night in the morning I usually get 4+ oz on each side and then 3 oz the rest of the day. I've read to try pumping on one side while feeding on the other to help up your supply of you are trying to stockpile.

Breastfeeding every 2-3 hours is completely normal. But if you skip a feeding an not pump your supply could go down. Try side lying so you can doze while baby eats. My first ate every 2 hours religious! Once we figured out side lying my life got a little easier. Once baby gets a little older he should space out his night feeding

My LO is on the same schedule, feeding every 2-3 hours. I pump 3 times a day and usually get 3-5 oz per session. I put 1 in the freezer to start saving for when I go back to work, and 2 in the fridge so hubby can help and I can get some extra sleep and skip one feeding (around 11pm) and for a time when I'm out and unable to bf or doing something else like making dinner and lunch for hubby and he gives her the bottle.

Yes if she's still hungry after the breastmilk bottle he will make a formula bottle. 6 ounces should be plenty. It's hard to pump large quantities sometimes. Especially after she eats/ cluster feeds.
