so I'm pretty sure my 2 month old daughter has a cold or is sick in some way, I want to take her to the doctor or at least the walk in clinic in town, but I'm still a minor. I'm 16 years old, my boyfriend is 17 years old. my dad told me I CANNOT take her to the doctor. we have insurance, fully covered. my dad just says if it lasts for more than a week that then we can go to the doctor but I don't want her to suffer for a week just because of my dad and his stupid mindset. and I don't have a car, my mom refuses to give me my daughters insurance card, she almost didn't give me her social security card but she made a copy without my permission. me and my boyfriend (her father) are both terrified that they're going to try to take her or something, I mean in Michigan at 17 you're basically not a minor anymore but I'm only 16. my boyfriend wants me to give him full custody but he'd still consult in me for everything, we have 50/50 right now and he says itd basically be 50/50 just in the courts it'd be him having full custody just so my parents, who have a history of being overly controlling and unpredictable, don't have any rights. I don't know what to do. I mean I trust him, I just know once I tell my parents that her father has full custody they will flip out and I'm terrified of what will happen. I mean my dad freaked out when I wanted to take her to the walk in, so I can't imagine what it'd be like once they found out.
