OPK help needed.

I'm completely confused. I'm 32 years old. We have 1 son who just turned 11 years old. I'm using OPKs for the first time and have gotten very strong positives for 5 days now. The test line has been and continues to be a lot stronger than the controlled. I understand what that means I'm just wondering if this is normal? And if so why am I holding a LH surge for so long? All of them look like this...
