Home schooling or reg school?

I don't think id ever homeschool my daughter only cause I want her to have social influences but the way this world is, private schools sound more and more appealing everyday.

I understand why some people would want to homeschool their children. However, everyone I've met that was homeschooled is a bit off.. They tend to be socially awkward and have a sense of entitlement that I don't usually see in my other peers. They also tend to be immature. Depending on where I live and how the schools are once I have kids, I would probably go with public schools. I am a product of public schools, and I was able to graduate early from high school and start college as a sophomore because of all my AP tests that I passed. I doubt all public schools are as good as the ones I went to though.

I am definitely going to homeschool my children!  I am not okay with how public schools are being ran these days.  I feel there are so many advantages to homeschooling...
​You can personalize everything to your child's ability and learning style, you can go anywhere for field trips, homeschool groups are awesome, they can still take part in any sports or extracurricular activities, etc.

If we had been able to afford it, we would have put our son into a private school. Since it was so expensive, we went the public school route and I don't regret it. Just got his progress report and his grades are way above average when compared to the district AND state, so I'd say they are doing a pretty damn good job.

Definitely not homeschooling! I think children need social settings of a school with pupils to communicate and grow. Each to their own but I would neverrrrr homeschool. I know there is probably arguenents for it but I just think your setting your child up to be different and not in the good sense!

Very few jobs let you 'home work' so I don't think home schooling is a great idea for most kids. Often kids in Aus that are home schooled come to school to complete their last 2 years of education before uni. From my experiences of going to school or working with those that we're home schooled up to year 10 (in Aus), they are at a huge disadvantage. They have limited social skills and they really struggled in the work and school environment. I wouldn't home school, I would find a school that supports my child's needs. But that's just me.

My children will go to public school. I think home schooling is ok, but not for everyone. Personally I think there should be standards that MUST be followed to teach your kids at home.

After seeing what home schooling has done for my younger brother and sister now 11 and 14 it's a great experience minus the social aspect they need to get out side of the home :) blessings

I'm home schooled but I use k12 it's technically and online public school but I love it and I really hated my school and its quite sad because most of the kids using k12 were bullied, have anxiety, depression. I think it's so messed up because I to was bullied and sexually harassed freshman and sophomore year (though it's not why I decided to homschool) I would want my kids to start in a public school then my the time they are in middle school they can choose if they wanted to home school or not.

I don't know what I would choose for my future children. My husband and I have discussed homeschooling because of how scary public schools have become. It wouldn't be reglious homeschooling, and they would have the option of participating in extra activities. Like if I have a daughter and she wanted to take dance lessons, she could take as many as she wants. We've even discussed enrolling our future kid(s) into preschool so they can learn social skills and be around other kids, and letting them go to elementary school and then taking them out for homeschooling. But I also would want them taking part in any other activities  they would be interested in. We haven't officially decided and probably won't decide until we actually have a baby.
