Has anyone tested positive on OPK and found out later they aren't ovulating?

Question

We have been trying for 1 year with 1 miscarriage (early). My OB today said that due to my monthly OPK giving me a peak symbol, she assumes I am ovulating and won't order any tests. 
I have had surgery on my ovaries which could cause scar tissue, I could also have more cysts, and I'm 34. I'm not sure why a hormone surge is enough for her to tell me very abruptly, "you are fine."
I'm moving out of state in 3 weeks so there is no sense in starting fertility treatments until after I move, but just wondering if anyone has thought they were ovulating and later found out they needed Clomid or surgery?

I would say you should have an HSG to check to see if your tubes are open. Since you've had surgery you could definitely have scar tissue covering them. If this doctor won't do one, get a new doctor when you move and ask for one. My doctor assumed because I have a period I'm ovulating. I've never had a positive opk until this month on Clomid. Advocate for yourself, if you don't think your doctor is doing enough then get someone else, you deserve better care than that. Good luck with your move and baby dust!

I was worried about this also, as i read you can have LH surge without actually releasing an egg. My doctor also wasny overly concerned. I had positive  OPK this past month, but still BFN. This month see doubled my clomid dose to 100 mg.  I would say if you think your doc is blowing off your concerns, find a new doc. BTW I am 34 yo ttc #1.  Good luck!
