How r u supposed to ice after vaginal delivery?!?

I was told after you deliver you will need to ice your lady parts bc both the outside and inside will be very swollen. I was also told you'll be bleeding heavily and need to wear maxi pads. How are you supposed to ice yourself if you have a maxi pad down there? I'm so confused!

My friend soaked her pads in a mixture of water, witch hazel, and a little bit of lavender I think and then froze them. She swears by them. Their might be an exact recipe on Pinterest.

Wow never heard of icing up after vaginal birth. I was never swollen but still i might try icing up for my 2nd delivery, sounds nice & cool lol

I am a nurse.  I cut a hole in a baby diaper and filled with ice for postpartum moms after delivery. Iced the lady parts and helped with bleeding like a pad. Feels good and no one know you are sitting on it. More comfortable than sitting on a big ice pack. You can also use a diaper with water and freeze at home for use at home. Plus you can thrown them away. ;)

At the hospital I deliver at they put water in diapers and freeze them for ice packs...I ised them all day the first day. There's alway many padsicles on Pinterest that people share how to make.

They gave me a ice pack to put inside the pad and it helps a lot I could sit on that thing 24/7 in fact I had one in 24/7

The ice packs are amazing they are made for lady parts I am doing a birth center but I ordered mine from a home birth website and Amazon has them also if u deliver at a hospital they will have them just ask

Padcicles pintrest what they don't tell you after birth.... it's awesome... helped me my family is very privet so the never told me about this or anything they talk about everything to have the baby but not how to take care of yourself after you have it...

Thank you ladies! I will have to ask my doc at my next spot if the hospital gives me one or if I need to buy some online. A padsicle is something I never would have thought to google 😂

They give you an Ice pack pad , you squeeze it , it pops and activates I loved it.

Never had to ice. They just gave me numbing spray for the pain and yes unfortunately had to wear big gaint pads 😐
