Sex during UTI?

Is it bad to have sex during a UTI? Does it hurt or will it make the infection worse? Just curious.

Answer

It is advised to wait 1-2 weeks after you have finished your last antibiotic as irritating the tissue around your urinary system might cause the uti to worsen. I got 2 consecutive UTIs in November because I only waited a couple days. The antibiotics made me feel much better 3 days after I started taking them so I assumed I was A-ok right after I finished. Boy was I wrong. The second one was more vicious and miserable and reached my kidneys. In the meantime...patience! It will totally be worth the wait! And don't forget to pee right after sex :)
