You do realize that doctors encourage you to take EXTRA folic acid if you're even considering trying to get pregnant, right? Folic acid does absolutely nothing to prevent pregnancy, but is essential to fetal development in the first trimester.

I got prescribed folic acid pills to take because of my birth control to help with symptoms... But folic acid is NEEDED to help get pregnant, prepares your body, helps build things needed for baby, etc... You need a new doctor. That's ridiculous.
