Ultrasounds?

How many ultrasounds did you have or did your doctor say you will get and at what weeks?  My doctor told me I will only get one ultrasound my entire pregnancy and it would be at 20 weeks.  I think that's insane to wait that long.  What if there is something wrong?  Anyone else have this problem or concern?

The reason they wait until 20 weeks (the anatomy scan) is that the baby is developed enough for them to see if anything is wrong. Barring complications or health issues, you wouldn't need another ultrasound. THAT being said, you can always tell your doctor that you want to see the baby before or after then.

With my first, I had a lot of complications, so we had at least 6 ultrasounds. My second, I only had the anatomy scan. This one is my third and I will only be having the anatomy scan barring unforeseen circumstances.

With my first I had three

1- at 7w3d for edd

2- at 18w for anatomy

3- at 32w because I had a huge cyst growing on my ovary

I would switch. I was told by my doctor I would have 3-4 and then we will also do the 3D ultrasound I think, which is out of pocket for us.

I had 3 with my first pregnancy(all in the first half). 
#1 @ 13 weeks for edd/maternal serum testing(I think that's what it was called)
#2 @ 15 ish weeks when I had an allergic reaction to make sure the baby was ok
#3 @ 20 weeks for gender/measurements

I'm from greece. Here for the first trimester you do one every 3 week's. The second every 2 week's and the third every week. It is obligatory to do 2 special ultrasounds at 13 and 20 weeks. And of course if there is a problem there is closer monitoring. I had blood and in one week I've done 3 ultrasounds. I'm 6 weeks only, it is completely safe.

Usually you get one at 12 weeks where you can do the nauchal test for Down's syndrome and then 20 weeks for anatomy
