If you're 17 and he's 19, I can see where that would cause some problems. You're a minor and he isn't anymore, once you turn 18 you're considered an adult. Your parents should be able to do that though, don't worry!

See, I can't even vote because I can't tell how old you guys are. I live in NJ. The rule here is once you're 16 you can consent to sex but until you hit 18 you can't have relations with someone more than 4 years older. So if you're 16 you can date someone up to 20, if you're 17 you can date someone up to 21. Once you're 18 no one can tell you what not to do. It's like that for most states.

My boyfriend and I started dating at the age you guys are now. You just have to wait until you're 18 and it will all blow over. Once I turned 18 my boyfriends dad stopped flipping out about our age difference because he kept saying he could get arrested and I could ruin his life. Your parents can't sue him once you're 18. Technically the age of consent is 16 anyway, at least it is here.
