Is anybody else taking keppra for seizures while pregnant ?

I have a seizure disorder and i was taking 500mg 3x daily. I am 17 weeks pregnant and when i first found out i was pregnant inhad blood work done. I just met with my neurologist and she said my levels were low so shes increasing it since I am metabolizing it faster. Im taking folic acid as well as a prenatal. Has anyone been on this medicine while pregnant and if so was/is your pregnancy healthy? Im sure I'm fine I'm just curious and want to hear your experience.

From what I hear keppra is one of the better anti convulsants to take while pregnant. The percentage of birth defects is of someone who wouldn't take it. I am on keppra and TTC baby #2. My doctors were able to lower my dosage to 500mg per day. I was at 1500mg per day before TTC. Not sure how severe your epilepsy is but you could look into that.

I take 375 mg of keppra 2x a day for my seizures and it makes me not feel anxious or stressed so I don't have a seizure.

Both my neurologist picked keppra because it's the safest to be on while pregnant. I've been on 500mg 2x per day for 2 years.

I was on it because I have seizures about twice a year. Nothing huge or debilitating like some, but since TTC I've stopped taking it just in case. Talking to my neurologist this week to see if it's ok to take or find something new.

My sister in law and husband both take Keppra. I'm pretty sure she didn't take it while she was pregnant. Maybe took something else? I know she couldn't breastfeed while taking it.
