How long does usually a couple try to get pregnant?

Hi guys,
​I am pretty new to all of this. I stopped taking my birth control pills in February, but my boyfriend was not ready to have babies just yet. Finally last month he decided we can start trying. We had sex without protection last month, but I didn't get pregnant. My question is for a healthy couple in their late 20's what is a normal timeframe to get achieve pregnancy? Any thoughts?!

It took us 13 months of TTC for our son. He is 28 months now. I was on birth control for 7 years and it took along time for my body to regulate. I got my IUD out on 9/25/14. We are TTC baby #2 now. I haven't gotten my period since it's been out. I'm afraid it may take a while for our second one as well :/
