When are you planning on telling family?

So I'm 6 weeks on Friday (roughly) I haven't had a midwife appointment yet, hopefully this week! We're obviously not going to tell friends and make it public until the 12 week mark, but I'm wondering when to tell family!? After the first scan maybe? Or wait till 12 weeks as well..... When are you planning on telling family?

I did tell my mum in the same day and no boday else.. even my husband... I want to hear the heart beat first , since I had mc before so I want to be double sure :-)

We are going to tell after the first scan. However, we live 11 hours away from out parents. So even though my appointment is at 8 weeks, we can't go home until I'm almost 10 weeks along.

Considering not telling the public/Facebook world until 16-20 weeks though.

We were going to wait until our 1st Dr appointment March 2nd to tell our parents but my husband couldn't take it. He talks to his mom or dad daily and he was dying. We told them over FaceTime last night. Hopefully we will see my parents and sister soon so we can tell them face to face.

We won't announce widely until I'm farther along. I'm ok telling people I'm close to as we would tell them if something happened too.

We're planning for 12/13 weeks, which happily coincides with Easter, so there's opportunity to tell everyone at once.

Have been trying for 3 years, and had an ectopic last year which most don't know about, so I don't think I could handle the stress of everyone being disappointed if after telling them I miscarried. Makes it simpler.
