What is your opinion on kids (16ish) trying to have babies?

I personally think it's dumb. I do know that some young parents grow up fast and they do what they need to, but most of the ones I know didn't.

I had a job and an apartment at 16. I walked to school and back every single day. I got pregnant and had a mc. Afterwards I tried to get pregnant again. I'm glad now that I didn't.

Even if you have everything in the world, you have a different mind at 16. It's not really where it needs to be. I'm in my late 20s now with a little girl and I still believe my mind isn't near as developed as it could be.

I think it's really sad that we live in a society where it's acceptable to get pregant when girls are still children themselves.  I believe people need to wait until they are adults, married, stable, independent, etc... Before they have children.  I understand that accidents happen, but do people not realize the correlation between the "go have sex with whoever, have fun" mindset people have these days and teen pregnancies..??

This is one thing that I have a strong bias on, as my mother was pregnant with me at 15 and my upbringing was awful. We barely had enough food or money to pay rent, she left me alone most of the time before I was 5 to go party or visit friends, and there was plenty of domestic abuse from her string of boyfriends. I get that my mom's "special" in her own way, but anytime I think about it, it just brings up painful memories.

Kids aren't legally allowed to make decisions w/out a parent until at LEAST 18 for a reason. Unless theyre emancipated. That means the court deems u responsible, mature, & capable of supporting urself & making decisions for urself. Just bc ur body is physically able doesn't mean you should. Yes, there are some who can, but as a general rule of thumb most are not ready & put a lot of the financial/ parenting responsibility on their parents. ur molding another persons life & could potentially cause them emotional & psychological problems for the rest of their life. So it's not judging it's a valid concern. If u feel ure ready, maturity & financialy to bring a little life into this world, go to court, get urself emancipated & show them that ur ready. If they agree. Go for it! Most teens wouldnt pass & have no business TTC. Too many of these kids are raised improperly & w/terrible memories that never go away. (Again, this is for the majority)

I was 16 and pregnant 17 when he arrived the 3 days of my 20th birthday I had my 2nd me and my so had our own place both worked full time I'm now happily married and I am a nurse. (All while I was a younger mum) there was times when it was tough but I believe regardless of my age people will have rough times, we are ttc #3.. Just wanted to share my story:-)

When I  was around 19 I  had a deep physical and emotional need to become pregnant. I was in a long term relationship and we seriously discussed it. I'm extremely happy I didn't give in because we are no longer together and I was not then and am not now (10 years later) ,  in a place to care for a child.  Just because you want something doesn't make you physically, emotionally , or mentally able to handle your decision.

I believe it depends, my mother had me just before she turned 17, she was already married to my dad and he really takes good care of her, they're both still very much in love. I know of other cases where this has happened as well, but then I know of my cousins who were as young as my mom was when they became mothers and one of them wanted to give her child to my grandmother to raise!(she's almost 90 and has diabetes) so I do say to myself what do they have in their minds? If they want a child why do they want to give it to someone else to raise him/her for her? That's why it depends of how mature you are...

I dont think its stupid or dumb we all think and mature differently it may not be the best choice at that moment but sometimes having a baby changes your life for the better and grows you up. There is always a positive side to look at. There is no reason for people to judge others and call them stupid or dumb no one is perfect we all make mistakes at some point in our life that arent so great!

It depends on the mindset & maturity of the girl. My younger brother is 26 and about 95% of the girls he knew  had had their first child by the time they got to high school. A lot of them weren't taking care of the LO & were leaving them/w their mothers. One girl had a baby and her mother started raising her child. Before the baby was a year old the girl was pregnant again this time with twins. Her mother told her she was going to have to take care of them all because she tried to help her with one and now she's about to have  3. It depends on the situation. I had a friend from high school she got pregnant her senior year. She had her daughter came back before the year was out and graduated on time with all A's went to college, got a good job and now her daughter has just started her first year of college. I think they don't realize sometimes how hard it's going to be. You can't always go hang out with friends and party with a LO at home.

I don't really think we should judge each other in a negative light. I'm in the UK. It's legal here to be pregnant and have children at 16 and as the saying goes "each to their own".
