starting the shot today , any advice ?

on my period and about to start the shot this afternoon .. any advice ? do you think my period will last longer since I'm starting the shot while on my cycle ?

I stayed on my period for 2 1/2 weeks after I got the shot on my period and I'm still bleeding brown discharge...

You never know how your period is going to be after getting the shot. But you could be a little sore in the spot where they do the injection. You may need to massage it with your fingers a little bit after to keep if from hurting all day. That's all the advice I have! Good luck! I hope you like it!

I was on the Depo shot for 3 months (1 shot) before I stopped taking it. I had a brown discharge for roughly 1.5 months and I had to wear a pad---I hadn't discovered tampons yet--everyday.  My doctor said it "normal" and that my body was "adjusting" but I hated it. My acne was horrible and I gained 11 pounds. Everybody's body is different but if you don't like it, try something else!
