Does anyone recommend alva baby

cloth diapers ? I'm planning on ordering about 8 of them to try them out and was wondering how you mommas like them or if you don't like them. We are currently using bum genius

I like the Alva a lot though BumGenius are my favorite. My baby wears both.

Some people they work great for and others they don't. I have 6 and they leak for me. But more importantly they are not compliant. They are not tested for being safe for babies since they shop directly from China. I do not use them for that reason.

That is all I ordered. I do not use the inserts that come with them (microfiber or bamboo). I use the prefold things you can buy at Walmart and I have no issues with leaks anymore. I did that with my son and now my daughter.

I love our Alva's. My skinny legged baby didn't fit them until closer to 12lbs, but since then they work great. We use the 3 layer microfiber inserts and they haven't given us any problems. At around 11 months my girls started peeing more, so now we double stuff them, but that's not a big deal to me.

I've ordered several "China Cheepies" brands like Alva & a few that were even unbranded. After a few months they start to leak through the PUL. It's cheap up front but if you keep having to replace them, there's no point. I would recommend a high quality diaper if you plan on primarily using cloth for long term. Hope that helps
