Hey ladies! I lost my sheet of pregnancy safe medications and I have been finding contradictory information on this medicine. Can I safely take this or is it a big No? Thank you!

Neither, both OTC and behind the Counter types of Sudafed are considered Unsafe during the First trimester... The one containing Pseudoephedrine can reduce blood flow to the baby as it is a stimulant. I think both are considered a bit safer after the crucial development phase of the first 12 weeks; but as far as I know they are Both Category C- meaning there use has been proven to cause harm/defect during pregnancy and overall they are not recommended except as directed by a doctor (where the benefit outweighs the overall risk). From was I've read it's the Sudafed made with pseudoephedrine that you get from behind the counter that's safe. Not the PE. I'm taking it now and the pharmacist made sure to give me the right one.

I'd call a pharmacy to be sure. The pharmacists at work say plain Sudafed is fine.
