Stay at home dads

I would like to know of people's experiences of stay at home dads.

We are ttc our first. I earn significantly more than my SO and it is likely that after my maternity that my SO will become a stay at home dad as nursery fees will cost nearly as much as he earns and for a couple of hundred a month I would rather my SO spent time with our baby than paying someone else to do it.

I would love to hear how that worked for others
