Spotting

I'm 33 and last night my partner and I had intercourse (me on top) it was a little rough but ok. I am currently 5 days before my due cycle and woke up with brown spotting which continued very slightly for part of the day. We have been TTC and I am having some cramping but it seems to have stopped. Whats your thoughts.....early period or caused from intercourse?
