Using fertility treatments

I have an appointment to talk to my obgyn about trying clomid. I have only told a few friends that we are TTC and only 3 know we are talking about fertility treatments. One friend handled it very badly and I'm afraid more of them will. Has anyone dealt with this? If so, how did you deal with?
