I asked my doctor the same question this Monday at my initial prenatal visit. He said, "there aren't any studies or facts that prove DHA actually does anything for the baby. The most important vitamins you need right now for the baby are folic acid and iron. DHA is just another money maker right now. It may help you the mother, but there aren't facts that it'll help the child."

The FDA is known to do live studies on the affects things have on people after years of them being on the market. They don't actually do their own studies in labs- you are their lab project.

DHA is just another form of omega with other added stuff in it. Your mother probably never took it. It's unecessary.

I'm taking Rainbow Light prenatals and Nordic Natural DHA fish oil. I'm feeling great and happy with both products.
