Eating your own placenta?

Question

How do you sanitize and sanitary conditions get your own placenta to be edible? Do you cook it can you put it in a zip lock bag Natural methods. I have heard of placenta encapsulated but don't know who or what company does this. I'd rather do it myself how?

My husband cut mine away from the membranes (baby side), disposed of that, sliced it up raw, and made smoothies.

I'm having my midwife encapsulate it. She charges $150. There's NO way I'd feel safe doing it myself without extensive previous knowledge and experience. Plus the equipment required is a whole other investment.

This will be the second time I encapsulate mine by myself. I did my son's using the TCM method, but I'm considering the raw method this time. I definitely noticed a difference in my energy levels and milk supply compared to my first.

Definitely wouldn't recommend doing it yourself! Just google it! You might find someone in your area!

I am encapsulating my own- there are very good tutorials online and the safety procedures are straight forward and easy to follow. You need a dehydrator and a freezer if you are not planning to start the process right away.

I had mine encapsulated if you google it with your area name it should bring up some people who do it. I had it put in double zip lock bags and I put it in the freezer until I could get it to the lady who encapsulated them. It can be frozen in a deep freezer for up to a year. Mine also was made into a tincture which can be used for many years to come.

My midwife encapsulated mine and I would definitely recommend it. My milk came in so much faster than with my first son and I'm so much less cranky. I wouldn't do it myself though

My midwife is encapsulating mine but you can find someone online who does it in your area or do it yourself. According to traditional method, the placenta is steamed with warming herbs, then dehydrated and made into pill capsules.

I just brought mine home, took it home ina cooler. Cut it up into smoothie sized pieces, blended it with fruit , ate one once a day for about 11 days.

I'm totally fine, didn't get sick, felt great mentally, bled less.

Just be careful because the companies that do it are not regulated.  Be sure you trust the company to know you are only getting yours, the equipment is properly sanitized in between uses, and it's done right.  So terrible to think about getting some or all of someone else's placenta in those capsules.  I'm sure there's lots of great people who do it, but just throwing this out there.
