When to have a baby shower?

My friends who are throwing us a baby shower have begun discussing and early planning. They asked me what dates I would like, and I'm clueless as to when to do it. How many weeks before your due dates are you mommies having your shower? I'm due June 25 so I was thinking end of first of May?Maybe April?
