Is name teasing still a thing?

Question

I'm naming my son Stetson Titus.  I haven't thought of anything that kids could tease him about, with the exception of a possible mispronunciation of Titus (which it tie-dis), and kids calling him Stetson Titties or something along those lines.

But kids nowadays seem more accepting to differences. I've personally never witnessed a kid making fun of another kid's name.  Is name teasing still a thing?

It's not the name that gets you teased in school, it's more about social structure and asserting dominance over a person. You could name your kid John and if he's not part of the social circle and they want to make fun of him, they will.

I wouldn't worry about the middle name because most kids don't know or have to share their middle names. And you're right I haven't heard of much name teasing in this new generation. My daughter is 11 btw.

Lol my name is Catherine and in elementary school/ middle school they called me Cathman 😂 kids will find anything but it just kinda makes it easier if the door for that is already open.

I went to college in upstate New York..and there is a mountain called Titus Mountain..and even college kids made fun of the name..someone even went around town changing all the signs to say "Tits"
I'm not trying to discourage you from naming your baby whatever you want...but it is still out there...regardless of age..
