​My period began on 10-12 so I started my pack that day, and it seemed fairly routine, I had a heavy flow day on day 3, I noticed the color was a darker red and the consistency was thicker. I also noticed I had no clots, well I thought my period was winding down as I normally last 7 days. 

​My concern and questions start with today, a full week after I started I am experiencing cramps, and an extremely heavy flow.  I have to double up with super plus tampons and a pad and I still leak through every 2hours or so. I have passed several large clots and my flow is no longer the thick burgundy red it was but is bright red and watery. I have still been taking my iron pills and my birth control pills. Is this normal? Im 36, have two children and have been regular for years and this is my first time on birth control since I was 24.
