Am I wrong

I have my tax money and my friends think I should pay my husbands eviction he got back in 2013 6 months before we got together... Yes I have money to pay it but that money is to be used to move in and decorate... I don't have much debt mayb 500 if that and that from an old credit card from 10 yrs ago :/.... My friends think I'm shitty cuz I won't pay off his debt to help us move out of his family's garage...
