What is this??

I'm not due to have my period for another week and a half and my cycle is normally 36 days. Today I had brown coloured blood when I went to the toilet. It wasn't lots but quite a bit. Does anyone know what this could mean?

It could be implantation bleeding. 
​Which occurs when the egg has attached itself to the lining of the uterus. Generally occurs 14 DPO 
​Some woman don't get this however. 
​There's also the chance your period is early.
