Long story short, my boyfriend lost his job on Friday and has a job interview at the same time as my scan on Thursday. I'm not bothered as I would much rather he go to the interview (him losing his job was a big shock and he's desperate to get back to work).

I don't really fancy going alone so I was going to ask my mum if she wanted to come with (being the person I'm closest to, besides my boyfriend). Would it be harsh not to ask my boyfriends mum? You're only allowed one person to go with you and I'm not purposely excluding her, I just don't want her to think it was a malicious choice.
