1st appt at 11 weeks?

I'm going to do a homebirth with a midwife. However, the closest midwives are both 3+ hours away, so I set up appointments with both: next Saturday (27th) and the week after with the other for a consultation. So I won't be able to pick one, let alone get anything checked for another two and a half weeks, at which point I'll be 11 weeks. I've been feeling fine, and I'm sure our bean is okay, but will it be alright to wait that long to get checked out?

Our insurance is basically just for emergencies, as our deductible is $5k+ and won't cover much before then. They don't pay for homebirths, so we decided to go with their cheapest plan to better afford a midwife.
