Is it possible to be pregnant if I got my period?

I just got my period, although it's been weirder than my last ones, it was more heavy and I've been feeling incredibly nauseous the last few days. My appetite has drastically changed and I'm wondering could I be pregnant and should I take a test while I'm on my period or should I wait.
