Hot baths in early pregnancy?

Are hot baths okay during early pregnancy? I'm going to be 5 weeks Saturday. My first dr apt isn't until the 3rd.... I've had mild cramps and it helps me relax.

As long as your core temp doesn't get above 100*, it's fine.

I personally can't do it. I start to feel very nauseous and sick. Last week, my boyfriend and I were taking a shower (& the water was barely hot) & I ended up fainting. So for me it's a big no no. I'd advise you to just talk to your doctor about it and stay on the safe side.

I've taken hot baths my whole pregnancy.

I keep a water bottle and a thermometer with me. I monitor my core temp and skin temp (elbow or knee crease).

I've had baths well over 100, 102, 103, and my body temp has never raised above 99.

I think people get really scared about things like this, when in reality the risk is nil. Your body alone lowers the bath water temperature at a very high rate. It's not like a hot tub where the temperature is maintained even if people get in and out.

Nothing more than warm. The baby cannot control its own body temperature and you don't want to over heat he or she. I'm 24 weeks and I decided not to take baths at all until now because I like the water a little warmer than just warm to the touch
