Herpes?

I know it's hard to admit so I'm not expecting many replies if any
But
I was wondering if anyone on here has herpes and how you deal with it or how it affects your love life?

Yep. Got it right before college when I was vulnerable and naive. Honestly took me years to come to terms with it. However very very few people know I have it. I did tell my current SO before we ever did anything and needless to say we are happily together. It's a matter of accepting what happened and yourself and also being able to be honest with others it could affect. Stay positive! The right person won't mind.

I found out I had herpes Dec 2014. I was on vacation with my boyfriend (now husband). We were only officially dating for a month and was on vacation. I found out during dinner, I instantly started bawling at the table, it was horrible. Afterwards we went back to our room and I told him that the doc called and explained everything. He said "I already planned on marrying you and nothing is going to change that". I've known him since Jr high, went to his senior prom with him, went out seperate ways for 3 years, and rekindle things Nov 2014. Found out about it a month later. Got engaged March 2015, and married June 1015. Now we are ttc #1. It honestly had to be the worst day of my life telling him but it all worked out. He is the love of my life. He has never been tested be we are pretty positive he has it and we just deal it and move forward. I've found antibacterial soap does  wonders with getting the sores to go away.

I was a reck when i found out i had it like gloves to go pee didnt think is ever have a family pushed everyone away told my current bf i had it he should get tested and never answered his calls again but the one person that wouldnt go away is now my husband and he knows theres a small chance he could get it but when im having an outbreak we just simply dont have sex. All the rest of the time weve been having unprotect happy loving normal sex for 4 years now infact it was my wedding gift to him no condom for the first time cuz he never wanted them in the first place. I make him get tested every year and he hasnt got anything so far but he always says its not like the end of the world if i ever do. He spent loads of time trying to make me see it wasnt like two years.. And i am forever greatful for him id be the cat lady with gloves if not for him and i dont even like cats. Lol good luck love trust me i learned its reallllllly not the end of the world.

that's a good point Jessica, you never know? are you a new relationship or been together a while?? you seem kinda fearful talking to him about it (my opinion) so I'm assuming you've not been together for a long time and are in a settled relationship?? are you likely to know of he's lying??  xox

It's a lot more common than you'd think.. I've been with my boyfriend for 3.5 years now, but this March while I was visting my best friend, I was raped by one of his housemates. Sure enough a few days later, when the bruised feeling went away I felt like I had cuts on my labia and I hoped it was from the struggle. But I went to my local Planned Parenthood and the dr. took a culture and it came back positive.

I had told my boyfriend about about what had happened and he spent all day/night holding while I cried. I felt so guilty. The day the doctor called me with the results, I told him and he held me while I cried more.

For me, it's still new. It will hit me out of nowhere sometimes and I get really down on myself, but you have to remember that it does not define you. I try to think of it along the lines of a cold. Every once in a while you might catch one, and it's a little annoying and you won't feel your best, but it always goes away.

I got it when I was 16 to the love of my life. We were foolish but after I was diagnosed with hsv1 we hardly used condoms he never got it And I never got it back...

Until today,

He broke up with me 5 months ago...

And he is sleeping around and because it's a small town... I can't find a single guy I can trust.

I recently ran back as you do and got it back a week later.

Will I date again?

I got the oral simplex genitally from oral with my long-term so. He didn't even know that he had oral herpes, but a large proportion of the population does. I had one outbreak almost three years ago, and that's it. It isn't like he can catch it back from me, and it is confirmed to be the oral type. I really don't think about it.

I have a friend with herpes, doesn't bother her for months and then suddenly flares up :( she got it from her ex husband who was cheating. :( she has a long term relationship with a lovely man now, she told him upfront and he's never had a problem with it :) I've seen  few people on here posting about herpes, you'd be surprised. :)

Yeah I have it to and I told my s/o and we still together and I got it in 2010 and it bothers me a moment but I'm happy with it sometimes

sounds pretty complicated tbh. you have two choices really, get tested and then tell him after its positive, maybe with a friend with you if you feel too scared of how he will react, or tell him now ajdbgo get tested together. its entirely up to you, but I'm so so sure you should go and at least find out  it could be nothing!! :) xx
