Cat question

I had to get my cats declawed today. I wished I didn't have to but my landlord said they had to find a new home. My parents said they would take them but only if I had them declawed because my mom is a transplant patient so I really had no choice about it. Just wanted to know what other people feel about doing it. I am against but I really had no choice about it
