Is it weird to carry my dogs ashes on a keychain?

My husband thinks so. My baby bruiser had to bebput to sleep this week . I got his ashes back in a beautiful box but I also got a small keychain with some ashes in it. I want to put it on my key ring to have him close to me but my husband thinks its very weird and I shouldn't do it. I think its perfectly normal to want to keep my baby with me.
