Black tongue from gripe water?

I just noticed my sons tongue being black today after using the Gripe water as well. I think it's ok. Didn't notice any other problems. I gave him a ounce of water & it cleared it up. At first I was questioning the older kids did they try to give the baby candy or something...lol!!! I don't know what causes the discoloration but i don't think it's any harm.
