How does your thawed breast milk taste??

Does your thawed breast milk taste different? I find mine to be less desirable and I always feel bad for my LO but he mostly drinks it 😕 (It's for sure not spoiled etc)

When i thaw my breast milk it smells and taste like metal 😱 but my lactation consultant says it perfectly fine still

Mine definitely isn't as sweet tasting as fresh. I've considered scalding but my lo takes it with no issues so I don't bother at this point

Yeah my frozen milk always seems to have a sour taste :( LO drinks it but doesn't love it. It tastes super gross to me. Way different the fresh or fridge milk.

Thawed breastmilk should be used within 24 hours. Are you giving it past 24 hours? That may be the reason it smells or tastes different.

It may be an enzyme in your milk, does it smell a little different too? If so, you can boil it and then immediately cool it before freezing. This kills off the enzyme so you don't get the weird effect on your milk. As long as your LO will take it though, it is safe to give either way.

I've heard that freezing can change the milk but it's safe to drink.
