So I've been with my guy for almost four years! We have two kids live together yada yada right ? Well I'm kind of upset because he says he wants to marry me but hasn't got me ring. No big deal right? Rings can be expensive I know that, so that's why I went online found a CUTE cheap ring for like $20 and he's all like NO! that's too cheap im not about to get you a Walmart ring. Does that sound like an excuse? Or should I just SHUTUP and wait for him to save money for a ring? How long do I wait? Sorry if I come off as bitchy I just don't understand why he wouldn't get me this cheap ring? It's not like I'd tell the family even if my ring was 5000 I wouldn't tell! Im just not like that. Any advice ladies? Be nice! Thanks yall

Some men prefer to get their women nice rings to spoil them in that manner. Some men may feel cheap if they got a cheap ring for their woman or may feel less than for it. Or he may think you're just saying that to make him feel better for not having the money to get something better. Over all it could just be a pride thing. It typically is with men. Sounds like he wants to get you something nicer. My husband wouldn't have settled for anything less than diamonds for me, and even what I do have, he said was too small and I deserve more. I don't think your boyfriend is trying to avoid getting you something, it sounds like he just wants to wait to be able to get you what he considers a proper ring you deserve.

A ring and a piece of paper? I'm sorry,  but if u want a ring that bad, buy one and place it on your ring finger.  It's the exact same thing. 
Also, expect to be LOSING money once u get married. ..oh yes. ...you get MORE money as a single mother of two,  than a married mother of two. 
It's a piece of paper...an expensive piece of paper that only makes things more expensive and cimplicated. Nobody tells u these things. .but it's true. .

If u want a ring that bad,  buy the one for 20 bux that u liked,  and place or on ur ring finger...poof- ur engaged...
But u need to REALLY analyze this, read about it, inform yourself about the benefits of being a "single" mother on papers, as supposed to married. .. 
Then analyze WHY is that ring so important and what exactly does it chance. .

Something that cheap is most likely plated gold (unless it's a sterling silver ring). And gold plate jewelry will peel/chip and end up looking awful as that happens, and will generally turn your fingers gray/green due to the cheap metals used under the plating. Just let him get you a ring he is comfortable buying, when he's ready to buy it. He probably wants to wait until he can at least afford a solid gold ring for you so that it lasts forever and can be passed down through generations and isn't some cheap piece of junk that's going to last maybe a year before it is in horrible shape.

It sounds to me like he's using the ring as an excuse to drag his feet. Marriage is NOT just a piece of paper and there are major legal advantages to being married. I'd sit him down and have a frank talk about marriage. After four years and two kids what is he waiting for????
