How to stand up to my mom?

Okay I'm 17 years old soon to be 18 in 2 months. I have a bf that my mom does not like. She hates him for no reason. We almost broke up because of her and because of distance. He told me that I need to stand up to her because I need to grow up and it's true. I'm relying on her so much and I think it's time to stand up to her but I'm still not sure. How do I do it without disrespecting her. Please help me out. Thanks.

If she dislikes him its probably for a valid reason. My first bf was my first love and i was so in love with him fr 3 yyears we were together and my mom hated him. She was so right about him though. Once i found out the truth about him i realized. Love really is blind. Anyway my best advice would be to talk to her maturely and like an adult. No screaming crying or disrespecting. Really try to understand where she is coming from, or respectively talk to her for her to see where u are coming from.

That happened with me and my mom when I was your age. Parents are always right. I thought I was in love and stuff and my mom hated him. Love is blind and sometimes you don't see flaws like they do. Im 22 now and I'm no longer with my ex and I married to an amazing man who my mom LOVES. My relationship with my mother is better than ever. If your mom doesn't like your boyfriend that might never change and you guys will butt heads.

When I was younger I thought I knew EVERYTHING & I just "knew" my mom's opinions didn't matter. I couldn't wait to move out & do whatever I wanted to do.  I couldn't stand when she would get on me about my room being dirty or not washing the dishes. Well, years later when I'm in the states & she's living in Japan with my dad, I realized everything my mom said to me was said out of love. Hell, I would give anything just to hear her voice yelling at me to clean my room. Listen to your mom. She knows what she's talking about.

My parents HATED my husband when we were in high school. My dad even got his gun out one day and told him to stay away from me. He was into drugs, went to rehab to show them he could change but dropped out. We broke up then 6 years later became friends again after he was 100% sober. 
Parents have this 6th sense for these things. If you really want to stand up to your mom move out and become completely independent (which will probably hurt her feelings) or you can trust she is looking out for your best interest and move on. If it is meant to be it will happen if not there are plenty of other guys out there.

Stand up how? If you live in her house then it's her rules. If she says he can't come there then you have to respect that. If you want to have an adult conversation to figure out why she doesn't like him fine. But digging your heels in and telling her to deal with your relationship is a good way to get kicked out when you are 18.

You will always need your mom, if you do decide to stand up to her then prepare for the consequences!  If there is one thing my mom has taught me is that I can live with out her, but I need to respect her as my mother, as do you!  I think you need to question your bf.

Ask her why she doesn't like him. She might have a good reason, and it might be important.
