How soon did you successfully try to conceive after miscarriage and D&E?

Question

Currently in a hospital bed after my d&e, waiting for the cramps to settle so I can be discharged. Had a missed miscarriage, baby stopped growing at 6.5 weeks, my pregnancy symptoms went away and I found out at ultrasound at 3 weeks later.

I'm so upset, but want to try to focus on the future. Would love to hear your experience on when you conceived after a miscarriage - my doctor says to wait 2 cycles (2 periods not including bleeding after d&e). Whatever it takes to get my body strong again, but I also don't want to "waste time"..

It's been almost two years since my D&E. I was 20 weeks pregnant with my son, it was devastating... For some unlucky reason (Not Genetic: we had him tested after) I wasn't producing enough amniotic fluid and he wasn't growing at the rate he should have been growing. I was sent to a specialist and they informed us that he was a week behind where he should have been. The doctor told us that we would have to have a Dialation & Evacuation. If we didn't, he would had passed inside of me or born and wouldnt live very long. The appointment for the dialation was heartbreaking, eing dialatied overnight only knowing the next day my baby would be gone. The contractions were terrible and I had gotten no sleep. After that I felt empty, mentally and psychically. I didn't talk to anyone for almost a week and cried almost every night. I realized I would no longer feel little kicks, have a baby shower, or enjoy the rest of my pregnancy like others. I wish I had gotten counseling after though didn't want to talk to anyone. Later on I decided to have some counseling, it helped alot. We chose to have our son cremated. We had genetic testing done and found out that my husband and I had no issues with either side's genetics. Just unlucky.. I was scared to try again. I mean 2 years is a long time. We have recently been trying, I am 7 days late, sore breasts, and light spotting. Though I took a pregnancy test and it said that I'm not pregnant. So I will have to schedule an appointment to 
 ee for sure. So wish me luck!

I had a miss miscarriage in June '15, I miscarried at 9 weeks but only found out at my 12 week scan. I had tablets to try and induce a miscarriage which failed so ended up having surgery to surgically remove the baby tissue, I was heartbroken after dreaming of having children for a while. Myself and my partner started ttc again as soon as I felt better but 8 months on were still ttc our rainbow baby. I strongly believe "everything happens for a reason" and I believe that one day I will have my chance to be a mummy, good luck to you all who are ttc 😘 xx

I also found out that my baby stopped growing at 6+4 when I went in for an ultrasound at 8+1. The cytotec worked for me. My ob said to wait until AF returns and then start trying. I don't know how long it will take once we start trying again but hoping for the best. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone *hugs*

I planned on waiting 1 cycle (doc wouldn't give me clomid until one cycle) ended up getting pregnant before AF showed. .. currently 30wks.

So sorry for your loss. We lost our baby at 10 weeks in December. My Dr told me to wait 3 months, but we don't want to. I finally had a normal period starting on Jan 29th. I've been tracking my ovulation this month. If nothing happens, then I'm going to ask to be put on Clomid again next month. It's been a rough couple of months. We have 3 other children - ages 2, 4, & 12. It has been really hard for them to understand. They were all so excited about the baby. Some days the sadness consumes me. I pray that God will give us a rainbow baby soon. I'm 37 & my husband is 43. 
Again, so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you. Praying that you heal quickly. Don't give up hope.

I've had two back to back miscarriages in 6 months. I'm so depressed but trying to stay hopeful. I'm now seeing a fertility specialist and she's hopeful for us. What I'm doing different now is taking progesterone 3 days after ovulation, this is my first month doing this. I test to see if I'm pregnant on Wednesdays

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a MMC in January - at my 8 week appointment baby measured just over 6 weeks with a low heart rate - then 2 weeks later, still measured 6ish weeks and no heart beat 😔 I chose to take misoprostol to induce the miscarriage, bleeding total lasted about 2 weeks, and then another 2 weeks later my period arrived. My final checkup to check hcg levels wasn't even until after I finished that period actually. My doctor said everything looked fine and normal physically and that we should wait 2-3 cycles to try again - when I said "ok, here's my struggle - my husband is scheduled to deploy in a few months" he didn't miss a beat and said "ok then, go for it now." So I feel like the "2-3 mo" is a scripted answer ... He later told me that they mostly want to make sure you're emotionally ready for another pregnancy. I will say however that first period after the mc started like old blood/spotting and I did pass some left over tissue from the mc ... And then it became really heavy & lasted a few days longer than my normal period, so I was glad I waited until after that was over with to try again. Got a positive OPK yesterday so hopefully things are back to normal & we'll get lucky with a rainbow 💜 sorry for the novel, but wanted to give you a good idea of how it all went for me.
